Class Descriptions

Slipcovers
Learn to create slipcovers for your kitchen  / dining chairs or
similar sized projects.

Upholstery
Due to space limitations upholstery projects are limited to
smaller projects such as dining / kitchen chairs, benches and
similar sized projects.

Home Decor - Open Project
Choose a sewn project of your choice. Sample projects include
decorative basket liners, lamp shades, sofa seat cushions etc.

Build Your Own Personal Dressform
Create an exact duplicate of your body using gummed paper.
The personal dressform is a useful tool when fitting and draping
garments.  This workshop includes a demonstration and a
dressform kit. The stand is not included with the kit.  You will
receive the necessary instructions to complete your dressform at
home.

Fashion For Teens
Teens can choose to create garments from scratch or alter
clothing to create a personal touch. We will cover applicable
hand stitches, discuss pattern development theory and focus and
explore on creative solutions for creative ideas!

Beginner Sewing - All Ages - Open Project
Work on a project of your choice while you learn the basics of
sewing and the settings on a sewing machine.

Adult and Kids Sewing - Open Project
Adult and child will work together on a project of their choosing.
We will talk about your design ideas and the possible ways to
execute them. Children wanting to learn how to sew will benefit
from the help of a parent learning at the same time. This class is
ideal for children who are not yet ready to sit at a sewing
machine themselves. A great way for parent and child to spend
time together.

Pillow Project for Kids
Children will transfer a character or design of their choice onto
cotton which will be painted using fabric paint.
(a sewing machine is not required for younger children and is
optional for older children)
I will help in the sewing and children will fill their own pillows with
ball fibre. Ball fibre is a high quality down like fill that is washable!
